Every now and again the day in and day out routine gets stressful. Traffic, friends, family, work and other obligations can make one feel forgotten. Women are especially guilty of this. One has to remember that life demands that we push “pause” sometimes. It’s important to literally take a time out and dedicate it to one’s recovery.
There is nothing better than a remote vacation on some exotic beach! But, for us in the real world, there is also nothing better than just an hour anywhere else than home. Everyone should be encouraged to take an hour and relax somewhere that is away from home. Take what moments one has to recharge and not clutter one’s mind with the hassle of everyday life. Think of this as a much needed “mini-cation”.
These breaks seem small but if one gets into the habit of taking them, a real difference can emerge. Go to the beach, the mountains, the lake, the theatre, or go read that (dusty) novel at a new café. Take the time and reflect on life. Travel to a new space and start healing that soul.
